WEDNESDAY 29TH MARCH – BURTON TAKES 2006 IRISH TITLE

Michael Burton had an emphatic win at Saturdays’ Patland Cup trial, on the famous Sugar Loaf mountain venue. Despite difficult weather conditions, the Co. Wicklow ‘Maestro’ returned a final lap score of three marks which completely blitzed the opposition and handed Michael not only his first Patland Cup win, but more importantly his first Irish Championship title. After several years of runner –up positions Michael was delight and somewhat relieved to finally get the number one spot. Incidentally his father who was present on Saturday won eight Patland’s a few moons back, so a bit to do yet young Michael!
Congratulation all round then to the new Trialstar Team 2006 Irish Champion….I just see 2005 Champion Andy taking the crown off his head now Mike, well done from us all.
